Taddy pledges support to Horton in year of celebration

Tadmarton Heath Golf Club is delighted to announce that Banbury’s Horton General Hospital is its chosen charity for 2022 . . .and both have big birthdays to celebrate.

Taddy was founded 100 years ago while the Horton first opened its doors in 1872, making it 150 years old.

Throughout its proud history, Taddy’s fundraising activities have benefitted local charities and causes, so it is appropriate that the Horton, which is so important and loved amongst the community of Banbury and surrounding area, is to benefit from all fundraising activities in what is a year of festivity for the town’s oldest golf club.

The Horton was chosen by the club’s centenary captains. Club captain, Ben Spiero, said:

“The Horton has touched the lives of everyone, at some point, in Banbury and the surrounding area. Our local hospital, and the incredible NHS staff, are absolutely vital to the community, and provide essential care that requires charitable donations to ensure the facilities, equipment and staffing, are able to provide an evolving level of medical care.

“It was therefore, unanimously agreed for Tadmarton to support a charity so close to all our hearts; this is made even more special, as it is the Horton Hospital’s 150th anniversary, together with our club’s centenary year.”

The fundraising tees off with the main event of the year, the annual Charity Day, on Friday 1 July. The day aims to bring together the north Oxfordshire community for some competitive fun around the classic heathland course together with good food and a festive atmosphere.
