Midsummer Madness Texas Scramble
As dawn broke on a beautiful Saturday morning 14 teams dedicated nutters golfers were already up and enjoying the annual Midsummer Madness Texas Scramble. The winning team with a nett score of 54.2 was made up of the Greigs (Paul and Andrew) and the Drapers (Phil and Matt). A special mention also to Dave Hilton who managed to ace the 7th. As for the 51 other golfers who took part, the highlight was the magnificent Full English and glass of Bucks Fizz on their return to the Clubhouse.
The sun certainly shone on Andrew Sabin on Sunday as his score of 41 points was enough to take the main prize on one of the biggest days in the Taddy calendar. As the Captain, Rob Stroud, treated the impressive field of 127 players to burgers and drinks through 7 holes the hot weather and drying course made for a tough but brilliant day on the links. Well done to all of the prize winners on the day.
It was another scorcher yesterday as 20 teams competed in the annual Charity Day competition before tucking into a feast of spit-roasted meats at the Charity BBQ. On the day we raised in excess of £5000 for Katharine House Hospice, so a huge thank you to all that played a part in making the day such a success - from players to anyone who donated a raffle prize. The winners on the day were the 'Sparks', made up of Barry Pawley, Les, Luke and Jack Washbourne.
